You choose your money to go toward killing foreigners instead of educating citizens

Dear American Citizens,

Every troop in Afghanistan costs $1,000,000 per year. The militray budget is at least $680 billion. Compare one year's military spending with the total student debt in the U.S., which is only $550B. These are the priorities that we have allowed our leader to have. We, as citizens pay massive interests costs on previous war debt and then again massive interest on our personal debts. We have chosen to priortize killing over our children.

China, Europe and several key wealthy Middle Eastern countries have embarked on ambitious plans to educate their poulations for the global economy. German students at Maastricht get paid a nice subsidy to study, and a higher one if they study abroad. Dutch college students receive free travel on the excellent public transportation system and a subsidy that allows them to survive. They are thrifty and many of them work as well, and save so that they can start a life a bit ahead. The top students study six languages, and are thus well-positions to bring in top grants from the European Union, which now exceeds the U.S. for scientific publishing. And while the top scholars do well, the education system does not leave behind the rest either. They have excellent training schools for practical work. People who just want to have a decent job are not tracked into worthless liberal arts bachelors so that they can pay for elites to babble and because everyone thinks they need a bachelors degree.

U.S. schools now rank 29th in the world [link]. U.S. students enter the job market with crippling debt. We work hours that are scientifcally ineficient. Nobody gets any work done on Friday afternoons. Anybody actually ever tried calling people's offices on a Friday afternoon? Nobody picks up, nobody gets anything done. Same for Monday mornings. Worker efficiency simply declines after 30-36 hours.

No German, French or Dutch person would accept how the U.S. treats its citizens. Europe is portrayed as "socialist" by ignorant people in the U.S., but the market is alive and well here, there is just a vast consensus that there must be government help for those who need it, thus a "social market" model. After all, markets are always socially-embedded and government always acts to create, sustain and develope a market.

We have to make a choice whether we believe that owning Iraq is more important than owning our economic freedom, colelctively and individually. Choosing not to act is the same as making the choice to continue murdering people instead of helping our people. Each day that we do not riot for better funded education, do not vandalize and destroy military recruitment centers and militray bases, we continue to be accomplices to murder and also enslave ourselves in the process. I do not advocate violence. I am a radical pacifist. Destruction of property is not violence. Destruction of property to safe the lives of others and our future is anything but violence. Not doing anything is violence.
